Lumiera exists to close that gap. Not by teaching leaders more about AI, but by recalibrating the judgement they already have, for an environment it was never trained in. Emma and Allegra built Lumiera from opposite sides of the same problem: one from governing high-stakes decisions, the other from the infrastructure underneath them. Between them, they had seen where it breaks before they had a name for it.

Emma’s background is in international law, which means she was trained to ask what happens when a decision has to hold up under scrutiny, not just when it sounds right in the room. That instinct is what she brings to AI governance: not compliance for its own sake, but decisions that are defensible when someone finally asks the hard question.
At Klarna, she saw how organisations actually change, and how rarely it happens the way the strategy deck said it would. Executive buy-in is not organisational readiness. Sponsorship from the top is necessary, and routinely mistaken for sufficient.

Allegra Guinan, CTO and Co-Founder
Allegra’s background is in enterprise technical portfolio management and MLOps, which means she has spent her career inside the infrastructure that AI decisions actually run on, not just the strategy decks that describe them.
She can tell within five minutes of a conversation whether an organisation is ready to lead with AI or just ready to talk about it. The tell is specific: whether someone can name what has actually been built, what is not working, and who has sponsored it, or whether the answer stays generic. Eighty percent tool usage is not evidence of readiness. Often it is the opposite.
